Founded in 1941, the Singapore Seah Clan Association serves as a vital platform for local Seah clan members to connect, promote ancestral virtues, and unite and support each other. Since its founding, the Association has upheld the principles of unity, respect for the clan, and community service, becoming a vibrant, generation-long family organization.
A tradition of unity, passed down from generation to generation
The 佘 surname has a long and rich history, with records dating back to ancient China. As history progressed, members of the Seah clan migrated southward, establishing roots in Singapore. To foster camaraderie and mutual support, a group of visionary Seah pioneers established this association before the war, ushering in a new chapter in the development of local Seah clan organizations.
The guild’s founding purpose was simple yet profound: to unite our people, to help and love each other, to honor our ancestors, and to carry on the legacy of our ancestors. This philosophy remains at the core of the guild’s development today.
Inheriting culture in modern society
Despite Singapore’s increasing internationalisation, the Seah Clan Association of Singapore remains committed to its traditional values. By blending tradition with modernity, we ensure that the younger generation can still resonate with our family traditions in this fast-paced world.
In recent years, the association has also actively moved towards digital development, including website construction and social media (Facebook and Instagram) promotion, allowing more young clan members to communicate and participate in activities online.
